Auditions                      

This rigorous program aims to provide non-professionals with the chance to experience a professional-style performing experience. ODP was developed to serve as an important level in our teaching program for students and the community at large. Pre-professional dancers develop skills that can only be learned from professional performing opportunities.

August 10th at Omaha Academy of Ballet, 319 N. 72nd St.
  • 12:00-5:00 pm: Auditions are open to any Intermediate through Advanced level dancers from Omaha and surrounding communities; for OAB students, dancers should be in Levels 5 and up
  • 12:00-12:45 pm: Warm-up barre
  • 12:45-1:25 pm: Guest choreographer audition #1
  • 1:25- 2:10 pm: Guest choreographer audition #2
  • 2:10-2:50 pm: Guest choreographer audition #3
  • 2:50-3:05 pm: Break
  • 3:05- 5:00 pm: Ballet audition for “The Awakening of Flora”

 

August 11th: Omaha Academy of Ballet, 319 N. 72nd St.

  • 1:00-3:00 pm: OAB incoming Levels 3 and 4 (limited to OAB dancers only)
  • 1:00-1:30 pm: Warm-up barre
  • 1:30-3:00 pm: Ballet audition for “The Awakening of Flora”
Audition fee is $20.00.
 
Performance Details

  • Rehearsal start date TBD (late September)
  • Rehearsals on Saturday (ballet) and Sunday afternoons (contemporary) from late September through January.
  • In-studio run through of show: January 25th & 27th– 30th
  • Tech rehearsals at Marian High School: January 26th  and 31st
  • Performances at Marian High School: February 1st and 2nd

Participation fee includes all rehearsals, costumes, and performances.* Dancers must provide their own tights and shoes. Participation fees are as follows:

  • One dance: $125
  • Two dances: $175
  • Three dances: $225

* Each dancer is required to pre-sell 10 tickets.
